My career was in the NHS, working mostly in primary care as a manager and latterly as a Director in a PCT.

I have a history degree with the Open University and have used this knowledge when volunteering at the Museum. Recording the reminiscences of the children of Beccles who lived through WWII for an exhibition at Beccles Museum was one of the most rewarding things I have done.

I am a keen wildlife gardener and enjoy reading and weaving in my spare time.

I was extremely honoured to be elected Beccles Town Mayor for the year 2023/2024.
